Excellent composition and creation of depth in a small space, supaoopa. It should be spectacular when fully grown-in! _________________

Well tank is a standard 10 gal tank...
Eclipse 1 filter hood w/
-Ah supply 36 watt PC retrofit light
-fluval sponge, AC biomatrix rings in filter area
50 watt visi-thermal stealth heater
eco-complete substrate
Hagen co2 canister kit using DIY recipe
Here is an older pic before the plants started to fill in to see the seperation of the plants a little better.
Foreground:
Glossostigma (middle, middle-right)
Midground:
Pearl weed (Left up to the drift wood, little bit on the very right)
anubia nana (very middle larger leafs)
Riccia (bush to the right, next to anubia nana. Also on larger drift wood)
Background:
Rotala rotundifolia ( left column of stem plants )
Bacopa caroliniana (right behind the rotala)
Hornwort (in the middle behind the drift wood)
THere is also a tiny patch of dwarf hair grass behind the riccia bush on the right that is not visible unless looking form the side.
Thats pretty much it. |

Update: riccia is officially the biggest pain in the @$$. lol.
WHat it looked like this morning. About a month after a big trim.
WHat it looked like after the riccia p'd me off... plus another big trim.
I wished I would have used nylon thread to begin with. Driftwood had to be taken out because the cotton string I had originally used to tie down the riccia was breaking away.
Felt kind of bad throwing so much of it away but I know that the plants will bounce right back by the end of the month.
What didn't make it back into the tank.
Will update when it fills back in. |

I got rid of the riccia from my tanks too - I have bigger fish and there was a floating mess of ransacked pieces every day. (sigh)
Don't throw away your cuttings, sell them on eBay!
Also, if you get a chance, please post your DIY recipe for the hagen system. I've wanted to try that in my system too but I'm paranoid about foam overflow - I'm on the last packet that came with the system... _________________ Maura |
