Guess what?

You don't need a trio to get a pair.
All you need are two fish, preferably young ones.

They'll decide among themselves which shal be the male and which shall be the female. The dominant one of the two will become a female, while the submissive one will be a male.

No, I'm not making that up. Clownfish are sex-changers.

I would go with 2 clowns. Your best bet especially if going with the percs is get a bigger one and a smaller one they will pair up. The bigger more dominant one will become the female. Percs are one of the easieast clowns to pair up compared to some of the other species.
