I read somewhere that you can use a fire extinguisher as a co2 tank. is this true? can it hold C02 and if so what else would it need?

Yes, a fire extinguisher can be used to hold CO2, but you'd have to tell the place where you buy the extinguisher that you plan to use it to store liquid CO2 (as it will require a different valve, etc)

You might want to double check to make sure that the tank is made for the pressures that CO2 must be kept under.
