Ah, well, lately I have been complaining about the poor care of fish and lack of knowledge at the pet stores around my area.

Today, I went into one of the 3 pet shops in the area, who I have quite a bit of respect for, and walked out with even more.

I went in and after looking at the large variety of fish, I talked to the owner and another lady who worked there, and asked them if they carried Blue Rams. This topic led into a wonderful discussion, and I was pleasantly surprised at how serious these people were, and how much they knew. It was such a relief. Anyways, to make a long story short, they didn't have blue rams at that time, but they did have some gold rams. They weren't for sale yet, as they were new stock, but the lady brought me into a back room where they quarentined fish before release to the public, and showed me them. This was VERY nice of her. She also told me that they were probably going to get some blue rams in soon, so I should keep an eye out.

I am very happy, and thought I would share this to lighten the mood a bit Smile

No, I am not stupid.
Blue rams are small fish, and 1-2 are OK in a 10 gallon with peacful fish.

Please don't be so rude.

Um.. actually, breeding is usually done in smaller tanks.. but no I don't intend to breed, but if I did, my tank size probably wouldn't have too much of a problem.

NEwbFishman-

Rams are entirely compatible with those fish and can easily be integrated into a 10g tank with them. The only potential issue would be keeping the tank clean, which is assuredly within Lunar's capabilities. Obviously, you know little to nothing about Rams.

Further, what's the deal with the insults and implied profanity? Shame on you. Insultingly questioning the intelligence of someone who obviously knows more than you do about this topic also makes you look ridiculous, double shame.

(Some non fish related advice) You know how the rules are about cursing and insults when you go to school? The same rules of decency should apply where ever you go. Trust me, you'll get a lot farther in life if you mind your tongue and take the sensitivities of others seriously.

LunarFlame, great to hear you found yourself a good lfs. Smile It's a great thing when stores quarantine their fish; the chain ones don't, IME. While it's a bittersweet thing to see in a Not For Sale/QT tank the fish you really want, it's also good to know that the store in question actually does quarantine, and try to keep losses to a minimum!
