I have a 55 gal. fresh water setup. I've been trying to soften and lower my pH using peat fiber. My GH went to my desired level but my pH has not moved. So I tried peat granular the other day and my KH went very low and pH is not moving. I also have a good size heavy piece of drift wood. The kind thet tans the water. Light/med planted. My parameters now are GH about 50ppm/pH 7.2/KH 20 This is my first time trying any thing like this. So any suggestions would be helpfull.

wrong section. this should have been posted in the water chemistry section for freshwateraquaria. you have posted in the marine equitment and chemistry area. a common error so don't worry, as I am sure a moderator will be able to move it.
