450 pounds ? wow thats not that much for a pure bred cocker . I paid about 1350 dollars for my first pug . Granted they do have birthing difficulties due to the size of there heads. But anyways good luck with your pup and give her a hug for me _________________ Dead I am the dog hound of hell you cry . Devil on your back I can never die ! |

Just a bit of advice. Make sure you give the puppy a lot of exercise and make sure she tires herself out at the end of the day. You may want to start a agility course for her.
All breeds of spaniel need this extensive amount of exercise because they can fall prey to something that vets call, "Sudden Rage Syndrome". Basically the dog snaps suddenly and turns on the owner and bites them. My friend actually had that happen to him when he was younger and working at a vet who deals with city bite cases has seen several cases. It was also documented on Breed All About it on Animal Planet. It's believed to caused by boredom and lack of stimulation. Unfortunately most cases have to be put to sleep because they don't revert to their normally happy selves.
They are awesome dogs, but definitely need to be handles with care, love and lots of exercise. _________________ "Feminae bene moratea historiam raro faciunt" |
