I've thinned out the swords in the front they were too dense and hair algae had taken over.

Here's a picture close up of the the thinned swords.

And I managed to propagate the red special!!! yeah.. here's a picture of it, I just have it anchored to the drift wood untill it produces roots.

I had a problem with hair algae in my planted 77 on swords, as well. Lovely tank! What kind of filtration do you have running on it, and what method do you use for CO2?

Nice tank Yoda! You might need a bigger one soon, those bala sharks are going to get huge. I have two in my 35 Gal and they are already outgrowing the tank. One of them is easily 20Cm and the other is 15cm. I also have 17 other fish in the tank! Laughing

Yes unfortunately when they get too big I'll take em back to the lfs and hopefully swap for smaller ones. I love bala sharks but they do get too big. I have 20 other fish in the tank

I've removed the overgrown Red Special and replaced it with a propagation, I'll give it 7 months before it becomes as big as the old original one did and then I'll have to do the same.

Here is the Small shoot that I wedged in the drift wood for 3 months to let the roots grow out.

Here it is planted in the spot where the mature on was. Boy the root system on that one was impressive it spanned past half the tank and it made such a huge mess when I excavated it. I did manage to get most of the roots out =)

The left side looks so much more busy then the right at the moment, but the new propagation will grow in soon enough.

Here is a shoot of the whole tank the way it looks at present.
