I have read that some of you have made tanks with wood bottoms, sides, and back while using glass for the front. How do you attatch these all together? What would be the limitations as far as size? Just how big can you go? Must there be some sort of a liner used? Or do you just put some kind of sealer on the wood sides? What is used and where for structual bracing?

Any links showing some of these wood/glass tanks would be a great help to me.

Here's a real good description with most of the answers to your question. The link details a 140 gallon plywood with glass front tank.

A couple other examples:

A lot of DIY plywood tank posts I peruse list Liquid Nails as a very good plywood joiner. You may want to do a search for DIY tanks/aquariums on Cichlid-Forum to see what else people use. There are TONS of aquarium DIY articles there, enough to make it seem like everyone and their dog are building them! Laughing

This is a very good site. It tells you all you need to know about the build itself.(www.garf.org/tank/BuildTank.asp).
