Hello:

Still cycling my 10gal tank.... I have had no ammonia for a week, and I have been doing 20-25% water changes every 2-3 days and my Nitrite is hovering around 2.0ppm. Should I allow it to get that hight, or should I be doing more frequent water changes. I have three Zebra Danios who seem OK (they chase each other around like crazy!), but I would appreciate your opinions.

Thanks,

I would do a larger waterchange and try and keep the number hovering around 0.5-1.0 at the most. While these numbers are still toxic they aren't anywhere near as bad as 2.0. The only real safe level is 0.

I would do the water change as Huntress sugggests, and then dose the tank volume with AmQuel Plus. It will detoxify nitrite without interfering with the cycling process.

Thanks for the advice. Can't wait for the cycling to be over so I
can relax a bit.
