I was just wondering if you guys could recommend a type of protein skimmer for a 22 gallon with 2 clowns, 4-6 shrimp, shrooms, zoos GSP and maybe a hardy SPS?

thanks SLACkra,

how much over the manufacturers rating for a skimmer should you go? I know with some filters they aren't very accurate on these ratings Wink . any specific models that you guys like?

my fav marine lfs who I completely trusted said to take what ever tank size recomendations for skimmers ect and cut it in half. I have never had my skimmer on anthing larger than my 32g and it says 100g capasity and I would never put a prism by itself on anything over 50-60g.

cheers

andrew

one more peice of advice go overdrive with your skimmer. my 7.5g has had no probelms relating to water quality which is mainly to do with my prism which functions as a skimmer and water circulater.

cheers

I would go for two filters that pump around 50-80gph. that would pump the full volume of your tanks water around 6 times an hour and would make a couple currents and so that you can try not to get any dead spots(places where there is little or no water circulation.)

cheers
