When stocking and aquarium, if you plan on putting mystery snails or apple snails in the tank, how should you account for that in the stocking levels for the aquarium?

do snails really could as fish in the tank. I don't think so Very Happy mainly because it is not a fish & its an Invertebrate.

snails are invertebrates but they are still living organisms that contribute to your bioload. something that is probably more important however is that if you have too many snails they may use up a lot of the oxygen in the water. I had a snail problem and eventually my guppies were gulping for air. adding an airstone helped a lot and now everybody is happy. soon enough the snails will meat their match though. gotta love dwarf puffers Wink
