at the moment I have a small tank with goldfish and an albino cory, but I have read in a couple other threads that they should not go together.. the only reason I put the cory in was for a little companionship and they seem very happy together without any problems, but now I feel bad to remove one and leave the other alone. is it alright to leave them as they are?

cories and goldfish require completly different water temps, your cory would be much happier if you got him 3 other albinos for company

Your cory really NEEDS other cories. And, as others have mentioned, the water conditions are very different for the two.
Kudos to you for trying to make your fish happy: so you know, cories in thier native habitat live in HUGE groups...they really, truly NEED at least 3 of thier kind to be happy.

thanks for the responses

. I just bought this 20 litre tank for my goldfish and the petshop man told me it was perfect for one or two goldfish. but I now know that this is way too small for one goldfish (it is fine at the moment my goldie is only the length of my thumb), but now I am looking for a new home better suited for them... when I find a place for my goldfish I will will add the cory to my 150ish litre aquarium. until then I have added one other cory to keep him company until the move, but not an albino one, the petshop was sold out Confused

I asked the petstore where I bought the tank if I could exchange the tank and upgrade to a larger one, but they said no Evil or Very Mad

so now I am looking to make an "above ground pond thingy" since I can't afford to splash out on another aquarium. any suggestions? at a garden centre I have seen huge terracotta pots, and was wondering if I could line it with plastic stick a filter and plants in it??? or any other good ideas?
