Hello all, I am new to the board and new to reefs. I have several nano reefs that I ahve set up well, all over my house! I just love them!
Anyway, I need some help trying to figure out on earth is in my small nano
I did a partial tank change yesterday but this morning when I turned on the light I had all these tiny little pieces of white debris floating around. Upon closer examination I realized it wasn't debris but living organisms!
They are very small whit bugs clinging to the sides of the tank and floating everywhere. My nano looks like a snow globe!
Are they friend or foe? Should I get them little critters out of there?
They don't appear to be harrassing their tank mates which consist of a variety of hermit crabs, snails, small flat shelled crabs that were hiding in the live rock when I brought it home, a sexy shrimp, a plant unknown to me, a little tree corral, polyps, feather duster, a very small yellow gobie and a small piece of worm rock. The live rock is covered with coraline algae.
The tank is doing wonderful but I worry about these little floatie bugs.
I have a tiny little filter on the back that is basically just used to move the water as I have it set to a very slow trickle. It has a filter type sponge inside it.
I feed everything a frozen varity of things like mysis and brine shrimp.
Thanks for any help you can give me.
Kathy
