I would like to build an aquarium 50x30x36. Would 1/4 in. plate glass hold the pressure if the corners were encased in a hardwood with a solid wood bottom?

thats 234 gallons which at 8 pounds per gallon comes out to 1872 pounds of water. this would have to go on a concrete foundation or outside on the ground. here is a link to a page with all the length and hieght dimensions and the thicknesses required for those lengths and heights.

it is in centimeters so you have to convert to inches which is 2.54 centimeters per inch.

here is a site with LOTS of conversion forms on it, it automatically converts it for you.
