Well, I can't believe I missed them when I first went upstairs, I went up to look at my little "wrigglers" and they were nowhere to be found in the back of the tank. Perplexed, I went back to the front, and saw MANY little babies and the parents gaurding them so fiercely. I have a few pictures to show you all now Very Happy

Here are the babies at their "wriggling" phase. They blend in with the rock very well.

These are the proud parents. Those aren't all the babies there under them, there are many more just to the left, out of the picture. They were just too busy posing for me Cool

A closeup of a few of the babies. I estimate a total of somewhere between 100-150 babies.

ENJOY!!! I'm so excited

Awesome!

What camera are you using? And how did you manage to get pics of them at that size...mine will only focus clearly on an object bigger than a grain of rice.

Good Luck with those fish(not that you'll need it) and be ready for more!

Thanks Noname! I am using a Sony CD Mavica 4 Megapixel camera. There is a feature that allows me to focus in to as close as .1 meters away manually. That's my secret, lol. I also try to only use the optical zoom, and not the digital zoom. After a certain point, it begins to zoom digitally, and the lens isn't doing any work, so the quality goes down. That's about all I do. Thanks again!

How are you going to care for all those fry!?!? yikes!
Great job!

Are you going to keep any of the spawn, or are you just going to trade them for supplies?

Well, Some will be raised to breed, some will go to my lfs (willing they will take them ) But perhaps most of their fates will end up as being feeders for the more carnivorus species that I keep. (Such as...My Oscar) But for right now, I'm going to feed them frozen baby brine shrimp and crushed flake food. I'm going to wait until I see some size and color before I start deciding which ones to keep. I have a 30 gallon waiting with my own custom (and by custom I mean home-made, yet still very efficient) wet dry filter. Very Happy Anywho, those are the plans for the babies.

The parents look so proud in the second pic, they look like they're saying, "check out what we have!" Razz

Are they the sole inhabitants of the tank? Because they can become very protective parents and 'take care' of anyone who gets too close Laughing
