I have just purchased a small regal blue tang into a pretty aggressive mixed community of damsels, goby etc. They all chased him for a day or Question so but he won all fights and seemed to be doing well except after the third day he has white spots all over, he is the only one with them. I know this is fairly common for them and I want to be careful I don't medicate incorrectly as I have a few shrimps and an arrow crab. I have done a water change 25% right away. Any suggestions?

your tang may have broken out with some ick because if it was fighting with the other fish this can cause enough stress which would cause a break out of ick. if things are settling down and he seems to be doing better id leave him in the tank maby get some type of garlic and soak the food in it for a day or 2. also do you have sand in the tank make sure its not sand because when they hide and sleep for the night they may be near the sand and it will stick to there side which resembles ick I had this with my kole hed come out covered in white spots but with in and hour or so they started to dissaapear. right now trying to catch him and move to another tank may cause more stress because he has to establish his rank in the tank which it sounds like he is doing. removing him then putting him back in might start this all over again. id try that and see how he does for a few days. also are you feeding your fish a good varied diet if so and the tang is eating that would help also. tangs need a good diet of different foods including a lot of greens this helps against ick and hole in head diesase
