well today was the day, I am now the proud daddy of about 2 or so (apache) peacocks. I took mommy out because she was lookin a lil hungry. but I have a few questions, they are in a 20gallon tall with filtration and heating and food, do I still need to do water changes or are they OK? I have the feeding down...umm waht else...should I clean the aquarium while they are still in there? and last but not least...umm PICTURES!!

thats the aquarium they are in by them selves, well there a re like 2 snails in there but oh well

1 baby

brother or sister!

and thats moma ill try and get some more pics soon
but any advise is greatly apreciated!

Feed crushed flake, bbs (frozen or live) and they'll do great. Do very frequent water changes. The more you do the faster they grow.
20% daily is not insane.
Once they are a 1/4 inch they will need a larger grow out tank.
See now at what size the LFS will buy them off you. Grow to that size and sell quick. The cost of running a large grow out like a 0g or 60 g quickly takes the fun out of the sale price... personally, I kept my fry in a large grow out, 75g and as each dominant male coloured up I used to trade them in at the LFS. Coloured males trade in for as much as an enitre batch of fry as the LFS knew they could move it instantly for an instant profit.
good luck

The fry look great!

Sorry for asking this I'm not trying to take over the thread... I was just curious.
Do the water changes apply to all fish, especailly apistos. ? Even if its planted?

yes, frequent water changes will help the growth of any fry. I used to change the water on my peacock and tropheus fry 3 times a week with some heavy feedings, and they grew super fast.
