Advisors and Moderators have free access and moderation priviledges in this room.

For normal members wishing to use this room to contribute a permanent article, or give feedback in an existing topic, all you need to do is add your name to the Authors group (click on the 'Usergroups' link at the top of the page).

The submission process begins with the posting of a new topic, which must necessarily contain the indicator [Draft] in the subject line. The content of the first post should be a draft of an article already in a more advanced stage, not a mere idea thrown in the air for later development.

The other participants can then reply on the topic adding their critiques/corrections/suggestions, and it will always be the topic initiator's job to edit the initial text in order to adopt or not the suggestions given, at his/her discretion.

When the author judges that the text has come to its final form, he/she should alter the subject line placing the indicator [Ready]. This is the green light for me to go read the text, evaluate it and transfer it to a new page in the Articles section if it's OK. The topic with whatever discussions went on will be deleted some time later.

Cooperative articles (with one or more co-authors) can be developed the same way. In this case, the intention/proposal/details of writing the article together should be arranged elsewhere (PM, e-mail, etc) and then one of the authors initiates the topic already with a draft, where he/she indicates the name(s) of the co-author(s) as well.

It is totally up to the original author(s) what type of credit will be given to those who participated in the topic. This credit may come as a general thanks note, an explicit thanks note, or even as an invitation to become a co-author of the final text, but those who offer help should do so out of their own good will and with no expectation of anything beyond a general thanks in principle.

IMPORTANT: The pages in the Articles section are viewed by thousands more visitors than a topic in the board, so the page must be LIGHT in order to not drain too much server resources. An article in that section should be made primarily of text and tables. Images and figures can be used as long as they're not too many and the sizes aren't too large in terms of the JPG/GIF file. Don't worry about the formatting of the article since here on the board we can't use HTML, I will work on that part when the page is getting prepared.
