OK, I know everyone has heard this before, But here we go

Acrylic vs Glass

besides the basics between the two (weight, light, scratches, etc), are their any particular issues with Marine Aquariums, that would make you go acrylic over glass?

as long as you are useing a relatively new all glass (in other wordssealed w/ silicon rubber), there is realy no concern w/ it corroding. howver, in large reef tanks w/ hundereds of pounds of rock and sand, you want to be extra carfull to make sure its level etc.

I've heard that acrylic is better for reducing algae growth - does anyone know if there is any truth in this?

I havnt found that to be the case... and besides, there are many factors that contribute to algae, and I don't think that the substrate matters too much.
