This is a workspace, not an advice forum or a chat room.
Advisors and Moderators have free access and moderation priviledges in this room.
For normal members wishing to contribute a new entry for one of the galleries (based on an original photo of their own authorship or provenly conceded by a friend) or contribute to an existing topic, all you added to do is add your name to the Collaborators group (click on the 'Usergroups' link at the top of the page).
The submission process starts with the posting of a new topic, which must necessarily contain the indicator [Draft] in the subject line plus the common and/or scientific name of the species. The content of the first post should be the contributed photo or a link to it and, if possible, the proposed values for the standard table used in the respective gallery pages plus a good paragraph describing the characteristics of the species, including the collaborator's own personal experience with it.
The other participants can then reply on the topic adding their critiques/corrections/suggestions about the table values and general text, At their discretion, each participant can also take the opportunity to submit their own comments about their personal experience with the species, which will be added to the page upon its creation. To clearly mark what is your own submission for the new page, put it inside a quote box like this:
| My Comments wrote: | | Insert the paragraph you wish to submit for inclusion on the new page for the species in this topic. |
When the collaborator judges that his/her text has come to its final form, he/she should alter the subject line placing the indicator [Ready]. This is the green light for me to go read the text, evaluate it and transfer it to a new page in the appropriate gallery section if it's OK. The topic with whatever discussions went on will eventually be deleted some time later.
The submitted photo can be a high resolution one since it will be edited/resized when the final page is created. If you wish you may add your name to it, otherwise it'll receive the standard Aquahobby.com watermark to help protect it from illegal copying. This watermark doesn't in any way imply that you've lost your author rights over the image. _________________ Are you a Fish-HAVER or a Fish-KEEPER?
