In all the research I've read etc, I've never read anything in regards to how to handle moving?
We'll be moving into a new house in about 11 months. How does one handle moving a 60G+ tank? Obviously impossible to do without emptying.. |

I moved a 30 gallon two years ago. Drained the water into five water containers (worked out at about half the capacity or the same as a 50% water change). I put the fish into an insulated box, the gravel into two plastic boxes and the plants into a plastic bag. The removal guys treated the tank and stand like a regular piece of furniture, the tank was the last thing in the truck and the first thing put in the new home. The fish were back in the tank within seven hours and were no worse for wear.
I had hoped that my lfs would house them for a couple of weeks but they were having a refit. I may have to move a 480Litre next year so I'm going to have to think that one through real well! HTH, good luck. _________________ Stand and deliver... your lupins or your life |
