I have 2- 10 gal aquariums I just bought that have incandescent hoods. Is it possible to use the screw-in bulb shaped flourescents used in home lighting fixtures. They fit OK. And are only rated at 13 watt. 60watt equivelent. Like the bulbs at Home Depot.

it depends on what you like and what you want to do w/ the tanks...

what are your plans for the tank?

That is what I have done with my incandesent hood. I like the look of the flourescent bulbs much better.
