Today I opened my mailbox and saw that a visitor had submitted comments for lots of different fish in the FW Gallery. Great, I thought, an experienced fishkeeper sharing knowledge, and proceeded to browse the submissions. They were bland but pretty much normal, until I noticed that all comments submitted referred to fish living the SAME 55G TANK. Here's a partial list I could mine from the species actually mentioned in the comments:
- 2 Blue Rams
- 2 Red-Finned Sharks
- 1 Lemon Cichlid
- 3 Julidochromis
- 2 Firemouth Cichlids
- 1 Texas Cichlid
- 1 Green Terror
- 6 Tiger Barbs
- 2 Bleeding Heart Tetras
And here are some exerpts from his comments, to show just how "successful" it is:
| Quote: | | I have 2 of these [sharks] in my 55 gallon cichlid tank and they seem to hold their own. I like the contrasting black/red colors and would probably buy some more whenever the present ones expire. They have an interesting shape and would recommend them. |
| Quote: | | I have 2 of these [tetras] in my 55 gallon tank and they gat along quite well with all my cichlids. I have had them before I started keeping cichlids. I believe they are over a year old and have survived even the cichlids. |
He thinks a 1 year old tetra/cichlid is an OLD fish and seems proud he could keep those tetras alive that long _________________ Are you a Fish-HAVER or a Fish-KEEPER?

Those rams and tetras must have been serial killers in a past life to end up in THAT mix. _________________ But if you tame me, then we shall need each other....You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed.

Is it possible to set up a tank intervention?
Something needs to happen before a wolf fish goes in there.... _________________ Best,
