Sorry people,
I was very tired yesterday when I put up the previous poll, I guess I wasn't clear enough with the wording and most people misunderstood the topic. So here goes the same approach as last month...
This poll is about the four tanks featured in January's Tank of the Month section. Vote for which one you liked best and add your general comments below about your preferences between true marine fish-only tanks (NOT reef tanks!) and 'false marine' freshwater tanks, as described in that section! _________________

I chose #2 because I've never really liked "false' marines. The coral just never looks right in there, if you have coral put it in a saltwater and that's that! But I chose #2 because I thought it has a very good layout. _________________ Praemia Virtutis |

I have to agree with you coffee I'm not realy a fan of "false" marine tanks . If I ever get enough room to build an african cichlid tank. I'm going to have to go with the more natural look. Lots of rocks, light sand, and gravel, etc etc. I won't even tolerate dead corals in brackish tanks . My brackish tank contains a number of large lava rocks . And dried maple branches from the woods near our house to represent mangrove rooots. Its realy beautiful and as soon as I get a digi camera . il post pics of all my tanks |

I also voted for #2 simply because I think it has the best layout and overall beauty. _________________

I also voted for #2 and I agree that it is a very nice tank, but I have to disagree with your reasoning. If you think about it, you will see that anyone could create this EXACT tank (different fish of course) as a freshwater/false marine. Being a fish only, all of the decorations are dead coral types, on crushed coral. Very beautiful tank all the same. |

I think he only means the coral decorations, not the fake coral or substrate. _________________ Why is it that every "How crazy are you" test online always returns to me with the results that I should start packing for the mental asylum? |

My point was only to say that to choose #2 and say that you don't like "false" marine tanks because you don't think the coral looks right, doesn't make much sense. Everything in the picture of #2 (minus the fish) are the exact items which could be used to create an identical looking false marine tank.

I voted for tank 2. I also guested right, which surprised me.
Tank 2 is a very simple, yet beautiful set up with a few colourful fish. It looks like a peaceful tank and not over powering to the senses.
(I know nothing about marine fish). But I am evntually hoping to get into when the budget will allow. _________________ Knowledge is power.

I liked tank #3. I'm not a fan of false marine tanks. So that left #2 and #3. I didn't like #2's sparse look. And I loved #3's live rock. _________________ Setting up a 55g wooo!!! |
