I would like a few suggestions as where to purchase snail free plants. I ordered plants from someone that said that his plants were snail free and I have 2 tanks with tons of bladder snails. I hate to throw these plants out tear down the aquariums and start over...know what I mean??? Thanks for any advice

Why the hate for snails? Snails are quite important in converting uneaten food into a form that plants can take in as nutrients. Honestly, don't worry about trying to buy snail-free plants - just put them in a mild bleach or hydrogen peroxide solution (10:1) dip for a few minutes and the snails should croak, but your plants will be fine.

I don't hate snails, but when they out number the pieces of gravel in the bottom of the tank, they are out of control. I had to tear down one tank to get rid of them and then I bought some snail free plants. Boom out of control again. I want the snail I add, not someone else. Now I have 2 tanks with this problem. I have killed and given away over 300 in the last 2 days. My bottom feeders are not getting any food.

Check out the snail infestation "sticky" in the Bottom-dwellers and Inverts section:
http://www.aquahobby.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=41
You will read about how snail infestations are often results of factors like overfeeding fish. Should help you out.

Once you get snail-free again, try that plant dip. Good luck.[/url]
