Am thinking of a species tank with 5 or 6 in; I don't want to allow breeding, can they be kept in a small shoal of all females? Have been reading up on all their requirements but can't find this info. Thanks.

What size tank are you planning on? I would recommend at least a 3 foot long tank... these are very active fish and appreciate a lot of swimming room. With a tank that size, you could stock quite a few WCMMs. It would make for a busy, active and fun tank. You could have all females, all males, or a mixture... though I would think it would be quite difficult to figure out which was which in the store... they move very quickly!

Have now bought 5 of these. The tank is just 2 foot long. One is 'the boss' and likes to chase the others from time to time! Have settled in OK though. Too hard to tell what sex they are!

Two feet (24", 60 cm) long is okay. Keep the water cool and leave them plenty of swimming space at the top. All should be well!
Very Happy
