Anyone seen this before? I just noticed the color change in the upper fins today a few hours after performing a large water change.

That doesn't look healthy. Did you check tank parameters before and after the water change? A sudden change in SG, temperature or pH could be responsible for a colour change, although that looks more threatening than the washouts some fish display when shocked.

It almost looks like fin rot. Is there any mucus or slime on the fins? White speckles?

I also note that the rocks in the background look unusually clean. Is this a newly set up tank?

Actually, when I woke up this morning his coloring was 100% back to normal and seems to be doing fine! I think it might have just been some stress from the large change. As for the rocks, they aren't as clean as they look. I never rinse or wash them off when doing water changes and there is live rock in the tank. The tank has been up and running for about 2 months, and the clown has been in for 3 weeks now. And yes, all parameters checked before and after and all are good.

I think Ocellaris are a lot more sensitive than many people realize.

Just wanted to update now that some time has passed (it's been 8 months) and the clown fish is going strong! He's gotten huge and is the pig of the tank LOL.
