So, after having all of them eaten/sucked into the impeller twice, it seems my two ancistrus may finally have some surviving hatchlings! The father decided, in all his wisdom, to put the eggs right next to the filter intake, so I had to put on a nylon bag to keep them from getting sucked up. I also didn't realize that the eggs hatched immediately after the lights went on... whenever that might be. I had the lights off so that they would stand a chance against the tank's other occupants... six rainbowfish.
Anyway, long story short, I netted about 7 of them and put them in a breeding chamber for the moment, and the father has about another 4 hidden on top of the heater. (Another few had an encounter with a female rainbow). Not sure how long this will be good for them, but it should keep them out of the rainbows' jaws. Also figure I'll stop with the excel I was using for a bit.
Anyway, without further preamble...
