I think it will look great once the plants grow more! I really like that driftwood...
Maybe just add a short, carpet-type plant in the front? _________________ In the beginning, the Universe was created. This made a lot of people angry, and has been widely regarded as a bad move. |

Thanks Danikins, I totally agree, but do you know of such a plant that will grow under low-light/low-tech? If you look on the left front of my tank, right in front of the hornwort, there is some kind of micro sword (I think), but rather than growing as a carpet, it grew more vertically due to wanting light. |

Sorry, I didn't answer at first because I don't know what types of plants work, I've never really done a carpet before. I think there's a section on 1-10cm plants in the Garden part of this site though
Also, I agree. I just started posting here again after 4 years and am sad to see the board isnt nearly as active as before. Hopefully it'll pick up again _________________ In the beginning, the Universe was created. This made a lot of people angry, and has been widely regarded as a bad move. |

Everywhere is quiet over the Easter holidays!
Try low growing Cryptocorynes as a semi carpet. You should be able to find several low growing types fairly easily. |

Update on this tank:
Full View.
Head and Tail Light Tetras, new Long-Finned Blue Rams
Nice Cluster of Neons and Head and Tail Light Tetras
The veteran of this tank, a Cory that's been around longer than this set up. Probably about 3-4 years old now.
Couple of Corys.
As you can see, the Vallesneria really took off. I got rid of the Hornwort. The Java Fern is growing very nicely. Any thoughts/suggestions welcome! |

I really like this tank! Lots of open space. What happened to all of your other plants? _________________ http://auditorandagentleman.blogspot.com - now with 100% more fish.

Thanks! The Hornwort just got out of control so I got rid of it. The Watersprite grew like crazy for awhile, and then suddenly went downhill. Maybe not enough CO2 for it? I'm not sure. I'm going to let the Val fill out the back and then get some new foreground plants. That's what's fun about planted tanks, they are always a work in progress, and you don't necessarily know what the results will be! |
