|
|
so gutted...my newer tank (second hand in perfect condition) has cracked.
I awoke to the sound of runnig water.the base had cracked from the back panel to the front of the bow.
it's a bit weird,as it hasn't been hit,nothing dropped on it.no marks on the glass,just a bloody great crack.
managed to save all the fish, and put them into my other tanks, but they are seriously over crowded now,so have to re=home a lot of fish... _________________ humans are the only race on earth to save the planet, shame we have the ignorance to ignore salvation!!!.. |

Pity you aren't nearer (I'm in Nottinghamshire) as I could lend you one of my spare tanks.
What make of tank has cracked and what base was it on? |

it was an aquael 200 litre bowfront
it was a homemade stand, made by myself..seriously over engineered aswell.
had it checked by a chippie...all OK..totally level...no low spots....so gutted...
thanks for your kind offer
sold on a few of the fish so far... _________________ humans are the only race on earth to save the planet, shame we have the ignorance to ignore salvation!!!.. |

Low spots are not the problem - a bit of grit under a tank can cause a crack.
These tanks have base frames so theoretically don't need polystyrene underneath but I would always add some under a tank on a home made stand. |

I'm kinda thinking that there was a bit of grit.....
the tank did have a thin cardboard strip attached to it....thats why I'm so shocked and puzzled about it..
just a total nitemare situation.
thanks for ya input
