|
|
Hi there,
I've got a 29 gallon tank that I'd like to add some Cherry Red Shrimp.
2 x Australian Rainbows (I know I'll have to get rid of these soon as they will outgrow the tank)
7 x Flame Tetras
3 x Otos
It's planted with Java Fern, a small clump of Java moss and Hornwort (floating) with driftwood and rocks. I doubt there's enough hiding spots for the shrimp, but I could always get more or make a couple of hiding spots.
25 degrees celscius, High pH 7.6 and the tank is nice and established.
Weird idea here... do you think it's possible to hang a breeding cage inside the tank and put the Cherry Shrimp in there so the baby shrimp don't get eaten? |

You can try but RCS babies go straight through any breeding net I've seen. They're too darn tiny. _________________ Fishing in the Rivers of Light |

Looks very similar to the one I had & yep, the shrimplets went straight through. Had bloody juvenile shrimp magically appearing in the tank months after I thought I moved them all out. _________________ Fishing in the Rivers of Light |

Wow, they must be microscopic. Might be worth modifying it or make a DYI cage with pantyhose then. I'm sure they wouldn't be able to swin through thin material.
Thanks a mil for your help. |

Pantyhose might work, or something resembling this would probably also work. Shrimplets don't seem to go through sponge (even if the pore size is just large enough to let them through) for some reason. _________________ Fishing in the Rivers of Light |
