The sump is a 100 gallon long custom built.

Looks like your pretty handy. Is that a school of little ones in your sump?
Also, a good place to put the heater. Keeps it outta sight of the tank that way. Cool

Filtration looks self explanatory. Do you have a step by step on the DIY?

Maybe its the ole' miners trick. Take a small bird into a mine to test for poisonous gases? The little ones are more sensitive, so if they die it alerts for problems in the water? Just my hypothesis.

That or it's where he keeps the feeder fish nice and fresh?

Use to have Largemouth and peacock bass in the tank and that is where I stored their meals. Wink
