Bring them all back. IME and IMO I wouldn't trust Walmart with feeder goldfish, let alone Malawis. _________________ You're gonna need a bigger boat... |

Just say they were purchased in a sickly condition. Make a big deal out of it and if you can't get a refund - get store credit and purchase some hard goods. _________________ You're gonna need a bigger boat... |

If you take them back to walmart all they do is throw them in the trash can...
Atleast make an attempt to get them back healthy.
Check your water parameters. Use this site to check for PROPER pH.
You do have a liq Test kit right? |

I have a great deal of experience saving fish from certain demise - both professionally and personally. I have never had any success with fish bought from Walmart, K-Mart, Woolworth's (dating myself) and the like. These fish are for the most part poorly bred, poorly transported, poorly acclimated into a poor filtration system and then poorly looked after by people who don't possess the basic knowledge needed to keep fish - let alone recognize the early signs of disease in a central filtration system. These fish could have anything with the symptoms described and before subjecting the resident inhabitants to whatever these fish might have contracted, it is far better (smarter) to remove them and return them.
If the OP wants to try and save the fish the first step would be a quarantine tank. Without this, the risk is pretty high. _________________ You're gonna need a bigger boat... |
