| Hi folks - I'm Peter Jacobson. I've had various aquaria over the last 40 years, but I've been out of the loop for a while thanks to our wandering lifestyle. Now that we're back home for good, I plan to set up our 90-gallon (FW) tank in the near future, and this looks like a good place to catch up on the latest info. I also have a stand for a 55 that looks lonely, so I'd better get a tank for that one too. (I'm sure you all know how that works) Great to be thinking about fish again. |

Welcome to Aquahobby, Peterjay! I hope the planning for your 90 gallon is going well and that you'll continue to post in the forums, asking any questions you may have. Or giving us your insights as you go along!

| Many thanks for the warm welcome folks. Things are sure a lot different than they were when I set up my first tanks years ago. About the only source of information back then was the LFS, and I'm sure you all know how hit-or-miss that can be. It's great to be able to talk to other aquarists. I've learned more in the past month than I did in my first 20 years of keeping fish. Again, thanks. |

I know exactly what you're saying! After a long layoff from the hobby I was elated to find this site. I can't even begin to tell you how many things that were considered "expert advice" back in the day that are now ridiculous. And I worked at a LFS for years!
Again, glad you're here. _________________ You're gonna need a bigger boat... |

| Not to worry Cinder - I'm a photographer, so there'll be lots of pix. Right now, I'm scrounging around for rockwork. We're in a glacial area here, and we're only 10 miles from the ocean, so I'm finding a wealth of aquarium-safe stuff, even some volcanic rock and fossilized coral - what that stuff's doing in New England is anybody's guess, but it's hard to resist picking it up for some future project. I'll probably wind up with enough rocks to aquascape every tank on the east coast unless my wife has me locked up first. That's probably gonna happen sooner or later anyway, so I might as well enjoy being nuts while I still can. |
