|
|
I ordered 10 RCS off of aquabid, and they all arrived alive and well. That was probably about 2 weeks ago, and everyone seems to be settling in nicely. They are all showing brilliant red coloration, except for one, which stubbornly remains a dark foresty brown, with a pale beige stripe along it's back. I am certain it is a female, as it is heavily berried, but I was wondering if this was some other sort of shrimp that got shipped accidentally, or if it was a red cherry displaying unusual colors. Thanks for looking! _________________ Please, oh Please can someone help me!?

Any chance at a picture of the shrimp in question? It will certainly help identify! _________________ - Rachel |

It probably has the wild gene. That is bad because you now know that your shrimp have a impure gene. Now...if you have just asked me, I could have given you a great deal on 15 RCS _________________

Sigh. Thats what I thought. I tried to take a picture, but my camera is too pathetic, it's from 1995 I think? It is pretty much the oldest model of a Kodak Easy-share. Next time I will definitely call you up Caton, I'm not too impressed with these but at the LFS they wanted $15 for 3 shrimp. _________________ Please, oh Please can someone help me!?

I'm not trying to de-rail the thread... but can you ship RCS in the winter? Its been getting below 0 around here, and I considered buying some shrimp, but I figured I'd have to wait until spring. _________________ - Rachel |

I have CRS coming in the mail on Wednesday, I got these RCS in the mail last winter in January. I plan on getting a pack of heat packs and they will do fine even without. If you get them from aquabid they will do even better just because they use insulated boxes and stuff. _________________

your temperatures, yes, with heat packs and insulation as stated. otherwise in my temperatures (where it can be -40) I'd say wait. _________________ Let the current take you where you may not always want to go. |

The weather doesn't really play a role. They are in cars/warehouse most of the time. If they kept it in -40 weather things would break and the workers wouldn't be able to work. I think it would be fine anyway. _________________
