Is there any possible way this forum could get more emoticons? There are a few that qutie frankly nobody uses. I am just asking, is there anyway to get more?

Here are some of the pointless ones that I never really see get used:

Mad Idea Question Exclamation Arrow Neutral Mr. Green (I have been using the mr. green one, but only because I found out about it a few days ago messing on the forum)

I've been apart of many forums where there are a lot more emoticons, and personally, I'm not a fan. They tend to be overused, and the bigger ones are too dominating and to me, make it look sort of 'trashy'. Often they are used to replace actual writing, leading to more pointless posts.
I guess it's one of the things I like about this forum - when you receive an email saying a topic has a reply, you know that reply will actually be worthwhile and useful, rather than a word or two supplemented with a bunch of big, flashy emoticons. Just my view on it though.

Having said that though, there are a few small ones around which I think are quite good, such as the one unissuh posted.

I guess they just make it easier for people to show their feelings over the internet, but probably aren't great for helping people to express their thoughts clearly! Confused Laughing (<--oh the irony)

I am ABSOLUTELY against going large with the emoticons.

They take up too much room, need time to load and very often replace words, just as Flame Angel says. (If there was a  smiley, I'd give it to you, Flame!)

Actually, a  smiley would be a welcome addition here. But a small one.

If you want to see an excellent set of small emoties, go to Planet Catfish. They have had this set for a few months now and every emotion and situation is covered, many are animated, but none of them larger than this: Very Happy
