wanted to show off my tank and a few of my fishies!

one slightly blurry pic of the entire thing. got all the rocks at a building supply for $15. the black tahitian sand cost me $100 for 80lbs- worth every penny. the aquarium itself, stand, and filters- $300. he cheated, she filed for divorce and put his stuff on craigslist (be good to your woman!). it was set up marine and the filters were in very poor condition. I replaced the lights with low-watt T5s, 2 different colors and 2 plain white (I highly recommend playing with light spectrum, as well as using T5s). never paid more than $6 for a fish, I buy the babies or take fry off the LFS. I don't mind a few scratches and a lot of elbow grease to have a really cool aquarium for that price. Great hobby, go and do likewise!

"manny" is my fave. about 7" and a monster!

Leporinus, jag, hero, and jack eating a goldfish. the leporinus is fearless. he killed the feeder, not the jag! the DARKEST jack I've ever seen, HAD to buy him (or her, if you know...).

the most colorful convict I've ever seen. raised from fry- almost 3", and she will attack anything not bigger than she is.

not just south american, have some asian pictus cats, an african knife, and this strawberry jewel. I find that jewels can thrive in these conditions. This one is mean! it aggressively attacks feeders, friends, and peas alike.

Very cool! But a tip:

Buy a new camera, camera phones nowadays take better pictures.

Just wondering but what is the stocking?

I also love the rock aquascape!

And I'm with ya on the craigslist tanks. Smile Got my 75 off craigslist and so far the entire setup has cost me around $500, instead of the $1000 it probably would have costed me new. Cool

camera is an $80 nikon, it sux I know, but I'm broke. also, the fish are WAY zoomed in.

like I said, rocks were cheap, the one on far left hides a powerhead, 2 heaters and a filter, but that other filter is still obvious.

I admit that the jewel was bought at 2.5", not raised by me alone, but I'll tell her you said so =]

Actually, I thought your photos were pretty good. Of course, they could be better - what couldn't?

The rockwork is nice!
Very Happy
