Anybody have any experience with these guys? Local ad here has a 12in. tire track for $30. My 200 gal. community tank has matured and everybody is pretty big. The only 'prey' fish would be the original white clouds I had to condition the tank. They are huge and my severums and angels can't eat them.
Anyways, any info on tire track in a community tank would be great. I read the info here and on other sites...just wondering on the forum here.

Anything thinner than the eel would be potential prey and these eels can grow as thick as a man's arm.
They will uproot plants and knock over less than stable decor as they burrow.
I've never owned a tiretrack but owned a fire eel which grew to 32" (from 6") in the five years I owned it. It would have grown larger had I not had the fish house disaster (pesticide spray near the air intake) Firetrack eels grow larger than fire eels - 40" long and 4"+ diameter is not uncommon.

Stick your arm in the tank -then double it for how big a tiretrack gets. Laughing

Great fish but need specialised housing not in a planted community tank.
