Yesterday I had my grandparents over for the first time in a month or so, and I showed them my new 30 gallon. My grandma then made a comment that I must be the youngest fish keeper in the US. We then argued for a while, and now wants me to prove it. So, if you began keeping fish below the age of 18, or are still below that age, please reply to this message. Thanks! _________________ Please, oh Please can someone help me!?

| I was first charged with fish-keeping when I was 15. We had a science project, and at the end of the semester, we had a choice to take them home, or donate them to our teacher. I took them home. I kept that tank from when I was 15 til I was 18. Then I got out of the hobby for 3 years or so. Then I started back up about 3 year ago. |

I am 13, have a really really really really small business (if you can even call it that...) that is slow because of paypal (found out that you can't be under 18 and have PP...they should have should have told me that after I did 6 months worth of business on there). I used to have fish when I was 3 or four in a bowl but now at 12 I keep fish with 5 aquariums and I plan on getting a 75g going, a 55g and a bunch of 20g long tanks going to breed african shellies. _________________

Thanks for all the replies, but now I have a follow up Question, how were you supporting your rather expensive hobby? Right now I'm pretty much paid off with my parents, but otherwise broke. I am selling my baby water lettuces at my LFS, and pet sitting for my neighbor who is out of town about once a month. So anyways, how did you support tour tanks financially?(By the way I am 13.) _________________ Please, oh Please can someone help me!?

It could be worse. They could be paying your way through detox. _________________ Let the current take you where you may not always want to go. |

I mow once a week in the summer (I mowed for the last time today, no more $20 a week ), Rake leaves in the fall, shovel snow in the winter and help till gardens in the spring. In the winter months I can make bank, one time I made like $60 only working like 5 hours one day. Mostly my parents help a bunch but
most the time with them helping and me working (I am home-schooled so I have tons of time for that) it is very slow but rewarding process. _________________
