Yesterday I hit up 2 new LFSs in the twin cities. The first one was full of dead fish, understaffed, overpriced and with a bad selection. Then I headed over to another one called World of fish and it was amazing. All the tanks were clean, it was cheap, I was helped immediately, and they try to buy exclusively from local breeders. I just thought that I would post this for anyone else who lives over there, so that they would know about how great my experience there was. _________________ Please, oh Please can someone help me!?

Yup, World of Fish is FANTASTIC. I've been there quite a few times (I live a few hours away). They have awesome fish and a large selection of plants as well. http://www.worldoffish.com/
Something Fishy is geared more towards saltwater, but I used to go there when they had their "bargain basement." I don't think they have it anymore, but it had used stuff at GREAT prices. http://www.somethingfishy.info/
There was one more I've been to... can't remember the name but I seem to recall them having a rather good selection of fish and a few plants as well. They had equipment for sale at reasonable prices, as well. I'll post back if I can remember the name! ETA: I think it might have been Aqualand: http://aqualandmn.com/home/
There's also a betta store with imports... the hours are sporadic and you're likely to show up and find the shop randomly closed.
Forest Lake Pets in Forest Lake, MN is also phenomenal. You look at the outside of the store and think it's tiny and not worth your time, but they have a HUGE section for fish in the back. They carry some African mbuna that I've never seen a LFS carry, and stock them in species tanks. They also have a large selection of bettas. Additionally, I've never seen new tanks at such low prices, either. http://www.forestlakepets.com/ _________________ Dumpster Tank
