Yesterday I went to my LFS and ordered 2 dwarf gourami females (they source them through local breeders) and they said they would be there in a couple weeks. I'll add them, then wait awhile and add a male. I am hoping to breed them and I had a few questions.
What do you need to do to condition them for breeding?
What do the water parameters have to be?
Does anyone know what you would do with the females, since it seems to be only the males that are in demand?
Is there a way to have a higher percentage of each clutch be males?
Any answers welcome, thanks in advance.

You need at least three tanks to breed them. The females need to be conditioned separately to the males and the best way to breed is a set up similar to Bettas.
The fry need plenty of grow out space; I bred many in 30+ gallon tanks.

You breed them pretty much the same as bettas, but you can keep the females in the tank until they lay eggs and they are in the bubblenest, when you get the eggs move the females. (I could be wrong but that is just what I am assuming, other people will probably know a lot more)

EDIT: Ahh, Diademhill; You ninja'ed me!

See if you can get breeder tanks - longer rather than high as these suit anabantoids better than deeper water tanks.

If you're willing to ship, listing females on Aquabid.com would be a good idea. I'm sure there are plenty of enthusiasts (not just your average joe fish haver looking for pretty fish in the store) who'd buy females. I know when I kept Dwarf Gouramis I looked all over the place to find females (including the net) with no luck. I finally found them in the most unlikely of places: my local Wal-mart. I would've preferred to buy better stock from a hobbyist... my Wal-mart females did not last long.
