When I first got my eels I fed them out of a turkey baster. You suck up some bloodworms or such and, with clean hands and arms, move the turkey baster right in front of the eel in the tank. Slowly push the bulb of the baster letting the food out right in front of his face - not directly onto his head though. After a while they learned that my hand in the tank often brought food so I didn't need to continue using the baster as they would come toward me.
