Any suggestions on fast-growing low-light plants? I'll see what the LFS's have. _________________ - Rachel |

I give you the gold trophy for killing the invinceable plant . I had half a leave give me three stems after 2 months...HALF A LEAF! Not even a part of the stem was on it and it shot out roots. _________________

Rachel, I feel your pain. The only plant I have successfully grown (mind you, I still have no CO2) is water sprite. _________________ Let the current take you where you may not always want to go. |

Pretty much what Caton said - best bet is probably hornwort, Ambulia or almost any Hygrophila sp for speed. Helanthiums work pretty well too. Duckweed works but it's very invasive; don't actually find frogbit grows that fast but it's probably a better option in the long run. _________________ Fishing in the Rivers of Light |

I've got a tiny stem left, I've got it floating in a separate bucket of tank water. I didn't know if it was salvageable or not, but figured it was worth a shot. I haven't looked at it in a few days. Maybe I'll get lucky... _________________ - Rachel |

Got some new fish today! I was just looking for some cories or a pleco... I shouldn't have brought my husband.
They had two sterbai cories, and since they never seem to know when they're going to get more of a certain species in, I decided I'd wait until they had at least five (too bad I don't want bronze cories, they had at least fifty of them!)
We came home with two baby baby bristlenose plecos (1" long) and six rummynose tetras. My husband wanted the tetras, and he thinks I can just dump them in whereever... I'm concerned if I put them in the 75, they'll get eaten by the angels (not right now, but later on down the line) and my 46 is full of an out-of-control guppy population as it is. I don't want to keep adding mid-level swimmers to it. So for now, since its empty, I'm putting them in the 6 gallon for a quarantine period. What do you think? Will they be OK in the 75, or should I update the 6 to a 10 or 15 and make it a species tank?
Also, the store had a complete 125gallon set up, (stand, filter and all) for $620... So, so tempting... Its too bad I honestly don't know where I'd put it. The only empty spot in the house is right next to two windows! Augh... XD
Anyways. Fish are acclimating right now... will update with pictures in a bit. _________________ - Rachel |
