About 4 months ago I set up this 10 gallon in my college apartment. About 1 month ago I added 2 red cherry shrimp and they are taking over! The tank also hold 5 celestial danios who are quite shy and 2 ottos.
In this one you can kind of see a celestial danio (blur on the left in front of the java moss covered rock)
How do you like the celestial danios? I've been considering a 10 gallon set up for some, but if they tend to be too super shy, I suppose I'll save my money
It is pretty low-tech. I just have the original top but replaced the bulbs with fluorescent ones. I add no ferts or anything besides the flourite substrate. Most of the plants came from my big fishtank back home. I only bought 2 crypts which keep producing babies and some microsword 3 weeks ago. It seems to be taking off as well.
I love the danios. They tend to come out if you stand still long enough and their colors are amazing! They just tend to dart into their corner if there is any movement.
I have kept celestials before and they were not shy. They are great and I reccomend them to anyone with a 10g+ setup with small inhabitants. _________________ 29 G

Looks like quite a nice healthy low maintainence setup, well done. Just one small comment: eww snails. _________________ Fishing in the Rivers of Light
I made a few changes to the tank. I took out the amazon swords, the apon and a few crypts and exchanged them for some bylxa japonica. it is growing nicely and the new leaves are nice and red.

Thank! I am really looking forward to seeing the crystal shrimp get bigger. They will eventually be moved into the 20 gallon tank I am slowly setting up.

Your Java Moss looks EXCELLENT!!! I am trying to grow some in my tank, but it continues to turn green and then die off. What do you give yours to make it grow so well? _________________ ConvectiveWeather: www.convectiveweather.com
I normally put 1/4 capfull of excel in the tank maybe once a week and I have DIY CO2 running. I think the java moss mostly does well due to the shrimp. I will have to go soon and cut off most of it. It has a habit of taking over the left side of the tank and all the driftwood.
