Can you please tell me where is a good place to buy tank-bred Corydoras? I do not want wild caught.

(Sorry if this has been asked a hundred times, I did do a search.)

Thank you.

Most cories in lfs these days are tank bred. Usually on aquabid also.

One reason for wanting tank bred rather than wild caught is because tank bred adapt to aquarium conditions more readily: they are more forgiving of less than perfect water chemistry. Smile

Check your LFS first. Be willing to travel a ways to find a good store (I found several about 150 miles away). Ask if they'd be willing to order for you. Many LFS have a weekly stock list they get from their supplier and will be happy to look out for the particular species you're after.

Keep in mind that corydoras are often mislabeled by suppliers and LFS alike. At my nearest LFS, habrosus cories are called pygmy cories. At the good LFS a ways away, leucomelas cories are sold as punctatus cories and pygmy cories are called habrosus cories. It's really a crapshoot.

As previously suggested, you can check www.aquabid.com.
