Nah, I already have the tank cycled (its my ten gallon). However I might try this with my 15g or I might get a Do!aqua tank or something similar.

If given a choice between dry start method and planting HC emersed, the choice should be quite clear Smile Dry start method is the way to go!

That is what I hear, I think it would easier just planting it because it won't float to the top!

Looks great! Any tips for planting HC? I am having the hardest time with mine. Is it okay if it is sticking out a little high?

As I mentioned, the only tip I can give for growing HC is that between immersed (in water) and emersed (out of water), I would easily choose the latter any day of the week Smile

I have tried planting in water before, and never again, shall I do that Very Happy

About how much of your HC is sticking out of the substrate? You want to plant it deeply enough so that it will not become uprooted before a root structure forms.

(I can't believe like nobody is commenting on this Confused)

I would say most of it is out of the substrate. Rolling Eyes I guess I will have to spend some time on it. Thanks for the tips.

Does that tank have a filter on it anymore? Beautiful tank by the way. Exactly what I want to have some day... but with Sulewasi Cardinal Shrimp. My cherries always lose their color after a couple generations.
