So, here I am starting another journal. I tore down my 2.5g nano (that has been up for quite some time now), you can see the journal here:

http://www.aquahobby.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=56708

The new tank's setup is as follows:

Flora:
Blyxa japonica
Hemianthus callitrichoides
var 'Cuba'

Fauna:
Neocaridina heteropoda var 'red'

Temperature is whatever room temperature is (usually 25C)
Red Sea Nano Filter
Pressurized CO2
Light is a single 18W 6500K bulb, on for 8 hours a day

Anyway, here are the updates for the new Mini-S. Let me know what you think!

As of June 27 2010

Halfway filled:

Filled and planted! Excuse the equipment, I forgot to take a picture before I started putting all the equipment back in.

It is quite amazing how much clearer an ADA tank is, compared to your standard glass aquarium! It truly appears as if the shrimp are swimming in air.

Only if I can get them cheap Smile

I'm looking for some good A or S grade, at the very least, but they are quite pricey.

Yeah they are, but at least can't you get them for cheaper in japan? Thats where a lot of high grade shrimp come out of right?

Prices are not that much different from the Americas, I think. In general, the shrimp are "higher" than the grade that I see in the Americas, but are also just as expensive. In addition, shrimp keeping is a niche hobby, so there is little demand for shrimp, driving the cost up.
