Mine wouldn't touch it blanched and I have over 50 of them. But as I say, it's just a matter of opinion and what the fish likes I guess.

So my bristlenose has been impossible to find for the past couple of days... I thought maybe he was just hiding really well during the day or something. Well I just remembered a couple of stories I've heard of them going into filters, and sure enough -- I just opened my HOB filter and he's sucking away on the sides in there. Still alive (thankfully!).

This confuses me, though, because I have an Emperor 280, and I just don't see where he would entered the filter at. I thought maybe up through the outflow, but the biowheel is in the way. And there's hardly any space near the intake tube, and the intake tube is covered with a small-grated cover. Where do you suppose he got into the filter at, and how can I block it so it doesn't keep happening?

Oh, nevermind. I know exactly where he got in at! After fishing around for him and eventually having to take my entire filter apart and dump him back into the tank... I know where he got in at. I'm going to cover every little crook with some sponge. Rolling Eyes I'm very frustrated with him right now LOL. Bad fish! Come to me when I call you... Laughing

I've been feeding blanched zuchini once or twice a week & was always finding it well munched on by morning, but it seemed like the snails were the ones that really were going at it the most. I tried raw zuchini for the first time last night & my gold nugget pleco went wild for it! He's usually pretty shy, but he was all over it right at the front of the tank. Thanks for the suggestion! Smile

I tried raw zucchini this weekend for my new little L-128 (blue phantom) and I am glad I did not peel it! That was it's first target. It trimmed off the peel all the way around and then started digging out the inside.

OHHHHH I didn't know that, I bought mine in Feb and still no bristles. This might explain why.

Hehe. Mine has grown well over an inch since I introduced her to the tank and I can't see a single bristle even beginning to appear! I'm thinking I have a female as well. Wink Which is fine! She keeps my tank nearly spotless of algae! And she's kind of growing on me... I don't really care for plecos, but... maybe because of her incredible cleaning skills... I like this one. Wink
