How necessary is a patch of land for mini crabs? I've never seen them given a patch of anything in stores, and they are very susceptible to drying out. Maybe if they were legitimate Fiddler crabs I could see a muddy beach area being necessary... but would these guys be fine just living in a normal aquarium? I'm planning on giving them tons of driftwood to scurry across.

They need land and many of the species in freshwater tanks in stores are actually brackish.
A good set up is similar to one for mudskippers ( easier to find online) and they should not be kept with fish.
