This is the fish I got given to me by the fish shop, they didn't know what it was other than it being a live bearer. I've searched and searched online and found this link just now.
The link above is the exact same species fish to what I was given.

Has anyone ever had any of these?

Mine is a female and she's highly aggresive to my other sailfins and paradise fish.

Cheers Linzi

Are you sure -as in have you done fin ray & scale counts - as wild type female guppies can look nearly identical and Gambusia are not imported into the UK.

Gambusia are nasty - they make paradise fish look peaceful.

Well from the picture I've posted, she is the spiiting image. I've tried to do a spinal count and she has definatly 6 if not 7, the same as the picture.

She is a real nasty little fish.

We bought her being told by the fish store that they was sure she was a live bearer but they couldnt identify her. I put her in with my guppies and she immediatly began to attack them. I shifted her into my 4ft tank with tetra's and sailfin mollies who she is still constantly chasing. She tends to go for the smaller fish but is often seen giving hassle to a 5" Three Spot Gourmi.

I wouldn't have thought that she was a wild guppy. She's too aggressive.
When in conflict with another fish, her pectoral fins stand up on end and are higher than her back.
Her scales although similar to a guppies, are far more defined.
